Online Registration NOW OPEN!

Good News! You can now register for the 2013 summer swim season. A link to register is posted on our team's website, on the right-side of the homepage. Directly below the registration link is a link to detailed registration instructions. PLEASE follow these directions carefully. One note, there is a glitch in the system that may not give you a discounted price for registering more than one child from your family. As you know, after one swimmer is registered, subsequent family members registered should be only $90 compared to $100. IF you get to checkout and the total is NOT correct, DO NOT PAY and expect a refund, as that is not possible. Instead, call Bur-Mil park @ 336-641-2020 for assistance and they can make the correct adjustments to pricing BEFORE you complete the transaction.

2013 Season Information

Hello Marlins! I hope this email finds you all well :) I wanted to send a quick update to keep you all in the loop on our season. Our parent meeting/info session/suit try-on will be held on April 18th @ 6:30pm in the clubhouse at Bur-MIl. We will have information about the team, registration, question and answer period, etc. Please come if you would like and invite lots and lots of new swimmers to come check us out. Registration will be ONLINE this year, woo hoo!!!! We are in the final stages of preparing the online registration, so please bear with us as we finalize things. Once registration is open, I will email out a link, post it on the website, and include it in the information packets. We hope this will make things easier for everyone! We will have several laptops available at the Parent Meeting in April to help facilitate registration for people who may not have regular internet access. And you are welcome to stop by the clubhouse anytime after registration opens and a staff member will help you get registered if you do not have computer or internet access. Some major changes to note about this season. The 1st meet will be June 11, one week later than normal. Additionally, City Meet will be later than normal, taking place at the GAC July 18-20. Please put this on your calendar now and plan for your swimmers to participate :) Lastly, there has been a rule change adopted by CSA. From now on, your child's age for competition will be determined by his/her age on June 1. This means that if your child has a birthday sometime during the season, he/she will NOT change age groups until the following summer. Bur-Mil finishes season 9th at City Meet

Congratulations on a WONDERFUL season!!! We are soooooo proud of all the hard work each and every one of you put it this summer. It was a phenomenal summer and our efforts really paid off at the City Meet. Just 5 years ago we finished City Meet in last place, 23rd of 23 teams scoring just 88 points. Of course we have grown in size which makes a huge difference, but this season we finished 9th of 22 teams scoring 1004.5 points. INCREDIBLE!!! I am so proud to be part of such a fun and exciting organization and I look forward to next summer. Hope everyone has a GREAT school year!!!

Skills Testing Continues TONIGHT!

Good morning Marlins! Due to the weather last night, we were only able to do skills testing for a small number of swimmers. We will continue skills testing TONIGHT from 6-7pm for ALL swimmers, new and returning. Anyone who needs to do a skills test, please come tonight between 6 and 7pm. There will therefore be NO PRACTICE tonight. We will resume the printed schedule tomorrow with the first practice being tomorrow. Pre-Season Pot Luck

Friday May 18, 6:30 pm at Bur-Mil Park Shelter #1 This is a friendly reminder that we will be having our pre-season pot-luck dinner tomorrow night. I hope everyone can come out and enjoy sharing a meal together. Bur-Mil will provide hot-dogs, drinks and paper products. Please bring a dish of your choosing to share with everyone. Make sure to include any necessary serving utinsils and make enough for your family plus 6-8. Also, it's time to break open the piggy banks and dig out all those one dollar bills. Towards the end of dinner, you will have a chance to buy a cream pie for $1 to pie the coach of your choice in the face with. ALL proceeds will go towards our team's Swim for Cancer goal of $10,000. Bills of all sizes welcome, and donations too, but we hope you will at least bring a few dollars to have some fun and support a great cause. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night at 6:30pm! :)
